About Shane Pransky

Experience

Hello! I’m Shane Pransky from Math is Fundamental. For over 30 years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching 4th grade in the same district. In my humble opinion, 4th graders are the best! I hold an undergraduate degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in classroom technology. As a leader in classroom gamification, I am passionate about making learning fun through playful methods. I’ve freelanced for Kahoot by creating math games and am proud to be a Boom Learning Premier seller.

Teaching Style

My style has evolved over the years, as every teacher’s does. If I had to describe it, I’d say I try to take the best of all the teachers I’ve ever had, taught with, or known, and bring it together in my own classroom to build a learning environment that has kids excited to learn each day.

Awards & Shining Teacher Moments

I have lots of “#1 Teacher” mugs. I’m not sure if that counts as an “award,” but I still feel pretty good about them.

But in all seriousness, the moments I’m proudest of were never the kind that come with a trophy. After more than 30 years in the classroom, what means the most to me is the impact I’ve been able to have on the lives of so many young people. My TPT store has let me extend that reach beyond my own classroom — sharing resources with teachers everywhere in the hope of making their teaching a little easier and their students’ learning a little more fun.

My Own Education History

I graduated from Bowling Green State University in December 1994. I later went back and earned my Master’s degree in Classroom Technology, also from Bowling Green State University.
